Navigating Everyday Worries: Holiday Workshop for Tweens

Welcome to Navigating Everyday Worries, presented by Anélda Huisamen, clinical psychologist. The workshop is crafted to help tweens turn everyday feelings of stress, fear and anxiety into bravery and self-assurance. This engaging workshop encourages learning with peers through video, art, and interactive games. By participating in this workshop, your tween will gain the ability to:

  1. Identify Anxiety and Its Effects: Learn exactly what stress, fear, and anxiety are, and how they affect both your body and mind.

  2. Transform Anxiety Symptoms: Discover ways to turn the physical signs of anxiety into a state of calmness.

  3. Spot “ThoughtHoles”: Recognise those tricky thoughts that can warp how you experience a situation.

  4. Apply Powerful Techniques: Utilise effective strategies to overcome anxious thoughts and actions.

Your tween will take home their printed workshop workbook, helping them practise the technique and giving parents/caregivers a clear way to understand and support their learning from home.
