Psychological Assessment

  • Specialist Assessment

Please book an introductory 10-minute call online (head to the booking page) to discuss whether this assessment is suitable for you/your family. Specialised assessment appointments are generally available in 2 months’ time.

Comprehensive specialised assessments for ADHD and ASD are available. Support recommendations are made based on your assessment outcome, and follow-up support is offered if needed.

  • Initial/ Mental Health Assessment

Mental health assessments are available for children, adolescents, and adults. You can book for a mental health assessment only, however, all new psychotherapy clients will be booked in for an Initial Assessment when commencing psychotherapy. The assessment includes screening for various anxiety disorders, behaviour issues, compulsive symptoms, psychosis, depression, screening for possible ADHD or autism, and other disorders and concerns.

  • Cognitive and Achievement Assessment

Cognitive and achievement tests help identify your child’s intellectual strengths and challenges and current level of academic achievement. It helps one understand why the child may be having learning difficulties and also ascertain the presence of learning challenges, such as dyslexia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia. These findings help inform a support plan for learning, and cultivates self-confidence by growing an understanding of natural strengths and challenges.

Psychotherapy and Psychoeducation

  • Talk Therapy

Talk therapy is most suited to adolescents and adults. It typically involves developing greater self-understanding alongside strengthening your ability to function in daily life. Talk therapy may be goal-directed and solution-focused (for example, treating OCD or insomnia), or it may take the form of longer-term therapy to process complex trauma or support long-standing emotional challenges.

  • Art Therapy

    Art Therapy

Suitable for all ages, art therapy supports individuals who find it difficult to put complex feelings and experiences into words. It offers a less “intellectual” and more experiential way of exploring the emotional world, allowing for greater spontaneity and self-exploration. No artistic skill or experience is required to take part in art therapy.

  • Play Therapy

Play is the natural language of children. It provides a familiar and developmentally appropriate way for children to process difficult experiences and emotions with the support of a guiding therapist. Through play, children strengthen their sense of self, and grow their social and emotional skills. Play therapy also creates a safe and supportive space for children who are navigating significant changes in their environment or family life.

Group Therapy and Classes

  • Social Emotional Learning Journey

Developed for kids between Year 1 and 6. In a group therapy format, the aim is to support kids to grow brave and compassionate through a playful Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Journey. Kids develop their sense of self and learn to connect better with the world around them. The program runs over four modules aligned to school terms.

  • Family and Attachment-based Therapy

Assessment and therapy of parent-child or family relationships are offered. Whether the family experienced trauma, big changes or going through adoption, families sometimes find themselves lost as to how to reconnect and see each other as whole loveable beings. Family or attachment therapy supports the repair of ruptures in these bonds.
