Privacy Policy

In line with our professional Code of Ethics and the Privacy Act (1993), issues discussed with me (and written records of your sessions) remain confidential to my files. This means records are securely stored and I do not discuss your information with others outside my practice. However, there are some limitations to this confidentiality:

Safety

If I am concerned about your safety or the safety of others I may need to forgo confidentiality in order to provide appropriate help. Where possible I will discuss this with you first.

Supervision

To make sure I am doing the best job possible, all psychologists are required to have supervision. This means discussing some aspects of my work with a supervisor or colleague. Discussions only take place in a professional environment and the identity of the client is kept as anonymous as possible.

Communication with other health professionals

It is often helpful to liaise with other health professionals involved in your care. I may first discuss and ask your permission to consult with or share relevant information with these health professionals.

If you have any questions about the above please feel free to ask me.
